Originally released by Namco in Japan in 1980, Pac-Man is one of the most influential and retro games of them all. We’ve long thought about hosting a Pac-Man tournament but for a long time were unsure of the best way to do it: by top score or head to head battles? Should we play the 1980 original or one of the more recent iterations which include features like simultaneous play? After some deliberation we decided to host the Pac-Man tournament with the emulated NES adaption of Pac-Man, released in 1985. Through each match of the tournament, players faced off in head-to-head point battles to advance to the next stage.
