Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2 Tournament

Tony Hawk 2 TournamentOn Thursday, August 25th we hosted our 16th tournament: Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2. Considered by many to be the height of the long Tony Hawk skateboarding series, the version that we played on Dreamcast (emulated on a PC with Demul) was released in the United States in November of 2000. Featuring an incredible soundtrack and an expanded list of moves and techniques from the original Tony Hawk (perhaps most importantly, manuals) this version the quintessential skating series is remembered like none other. After this iteration the third title was well received and the series went downhill from there. In 2016 Activision tried and failed to revive the series with a new entrant. We will always have Tony Hawk 2, though. There were 8 participants in this tournament, and the semi-finals came down to Austin, Blair, Dan Coleman and Julius. In the final match, Austin beat Dan Coleman to take his first victory in a CGF tournament. Being the co-organizer of CGF since early 2015, this victory was a long time coming and we were happy to see Austin finally win after coming close so many times in the past.
